A QSL card is a written confirmation of either a radiocommunication between two amateur radio stations or a reception of a signal from a broadcast station. Please find a more detailed description at Wikipedia. QSL cards of amateur radio stations are only added to my collection if a radio country or an US state or a Canadian province could not be confirmed by a broadcasting station. My radio country rank is based on the radio countries list of the European DC Council (EDXC). According to the EDXC rule "a certain territory must not be counted both as a current or an extinct country" the following countries are not counted as a radio country in my statistics (extinct radio countries are prefixed by the † symbol):  Czech Republic  †Czechoslovakia and Slovakia do count  Germany  †Germany, West and †Germany, East do count  Serbia  all other former republics of †Yugoslavia and †Yugoslavia itself do count  Russia  all other former republics of †USSR and †USSR itself do count  Vietnam  †Vietnam, South and †Vietnam, North do count  Yemen  †Yemen, South and †Yemen, North do count The following territories are also not counted as a radio country in my statistics :  Banaba  Banaba has been deleted without replacement in the 2007 edition of the EDXC radio countries list  Daitō Islands  Daitō Islands have been deleted without replacement in the 2007 edition of the EDXC radio countries list  St. Martin, French  St. Barthélemy and the French part of St. Martin are two separated overseas collectivities of France but counted as one radio country by the EDXC  International Waters  The International Waters are not a valid radio country My statistics :  Statistics Broadcasting stations   Amateur radio stations   Total    QSL cards 487   113   600    Radio countries 200   106   306
